Who we are
At Budd Piper and Durham Roofing we love our history. We’ve been in business collectively for over 110 years! Over the years we have done large projects such as Durham Hosiery Hill, Hanes Point Shopping Center in Winston Salem, North Chase Shopping Center in Wilmington, NC, and many historic restorations such as the Hill Mansion in Durham.
We have received awards such as the TBJ's 2019 Family Business Award (see link here).
A quote from this article states: “Our second-generation company has built a reputation for customer service and quality workmanship which mirrors the values and work ethic Richard Porter has instilled in his family and employees. We don't take any shortcuts. Establishing lasting relationships with our customers is important and the reason why so many commercial property owners return to use our services time and again.
Being a family-owned and local business is key to the Porters. Having a gifted and talented third generation to continue the legacy is a blessing.”

She quickly learned the trade and went on to work on the road as a roofing project manager in Arizona, Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York. She made her way back to the family business and continued to put more skills under her belt. Now she has taken over all safety and OSHA protocols for the company, works on the roof and in the field, and designs all the IT for the company as well.
